Introduction: The gut microbiota is the microorganisms in digestive tract. They are mainly bacteria. play a very important role maintaining body's homeostasis. state of influenced by lifestyle including diet, stress and physical activity. In irritable bowel syndrome, there disorders composition intestinal microbiota. It also associated with disruption proper functioning gut-brain axis. Aim: aim this study was to review literature reports on syndrome impact low FODMAP diet. Methods: Data for article were retrieved using PubMed setting time descriptors 2017-2021. Results conclusions: Irritable (IBS) chronic functional gastrointestinal disease. manifested abdominal pain , diarrhea or constipation changes frequency movements. significantly affects quality life patients. diagnosis uses Roman IV criteria. Pharmacological as well non-pharmacological methods treatment. A low-FODMAP diet plays major role. Studies show that its use alleviates symptoms IBS.
